Camera Registration
The Flatwoods Police Department has started a voluntary camera registration program open to anyone who lives or operates a business in Flatwoods. If you are interested in assisting in an investigation in the event of a crime in our neighborhood, you can register your camera with us. This will not give us constant access to your camera, it simply informs us that you have a camera, we will not have direct access to your camera system and cannot access camera footage without your consent. There is also no requirement to provide footage, even if you have registered your camera.

The police department will contact you camera if a crime occurs in your neighborhood. Should you already have footage that you would like to share with the police department, please click here.
There is no requirement to provide footage, you can decline for any reason and at any time you may remove your registration from our list.
The benefits of Camera Registration is that you can help solve a crime. Videos are solving hundreds of crimes a day in the US. Homeowners attend court proceedings less often if video evidence is available.
We will accept any residential or business camera registration in town limits and the general Flatwoods area. If a crime occurs outside of town limits, we will share your information with the investigating department. If you only want the Flatwoods Police Department to know about your cameras, please state as such in the “Description of Camera and what direction does your cameras point?” box on the registration form.
There is no cost to register.
This does not give the police department automatic access to your camera system. Registration is voluntary.
Should you dispose of your cameras, or would like to have your camera removed from registration email info@flatwoodswv.org.
